The Dufferin Grove neighbourhood is home to families from many different cultural backgrounds. The whole neighbourhood has recently been revitalized by improvements to Dufferin Grove Park.

Dufferin Grove Park is basically a community centre without any walls, it is the most innovative community park in the city. It includes a community bake oven, a music circle, a campfire, a community flower and vegetable garden, live theatre, a summer music festival, arts and crafts classes, and a naturalization project.

Aside from being the most innovative community park in the city, the Dufferin Grove Park also has traditional recreational facilities, including tennis courts, a basketball court, a wading pool, an artificial ice rink, and a playing field. Other great parks in the area include: The Fred Hamilton Playground, Bickford Park, Trinity Bellwoods Park and Christie Pits.

The West-End YMCA at 931 College Street also has a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and community programs.

For shoppers, why not walk over to The Dufferin Mall. The Mall includes over 120 shops and services anchored by Winners, Toys ‘R US, Wal-Mart and No Frills. It also has a "family place" play area for toddlers, and a youth learning centre that includes reading programs, arts and crafts, and storytelling. College St is home to little Italy with many great Italian restaurants and cafes. Stop for a capuccino at one of the sidewalk patios and enjoy the atmosphere of Old Toronto all around you. There is also great street shopping on College, Dufferin and Dundas Streets.

It's easy to get anywhere you need to from here; there are streetcars along College St and Dundas St W and the Dovercourt bus goes to Ossington Subway on the Bloor/Danforth line. It's only a 5 to 10 minute drive to downtown Toronto or a short drive to Gardiner Expressway.

This lovely area of Toronto combines the beauty of Old Toronto with the conveniences and excitement of all the city has to offer close at hand.
